Dorothy O'Halloran
Everyone needs relationships. Whether you're looking for a safe, healing relationship within which to explore and repair past hurts or trying to mend or strengthen existing relationships, Dorothy is there to help. She believes personal growth requires a supportive and secure environment, and she has been told her warmth and humor have put clients at ease as they seek to understand what they are wanting from therapy in order to increase meaning or satisfaction in their marital, parenting, family, friendship, work and spiritual relationships. Walking with clients as they let go of old patterns and learn new ways to live more authentically is an honor.
Dorothy has been in practice for over 20 years. She primarily understands client concerns through the lenses of attachment and trauma theories. While always remaining client-centered, approaches she uses include Emotion Focused Therapy for couples, Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (including DBT and ACT), and relational interventions. She has also been trained in life coaching and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. If you'd like to learn more about any of these approaches or explore whether you might work well together, she'd be glad to hear from you.
